Signed up for TELUS ENHANCED hi-speed internet Feb 4/04,Install went great with hi-speed internet .Telus sent me a 2 WIRE 270 HG-e self install kit with all the goodies to get me hooked up to the internet. Enhanced 3.00 Meg kit packaged with filters, software CD and modem. Download speeds seem to stay stable any time day or night . About 2100 to 2200 down and 640 to 675 up.Some things never change Only weak point is that the 2 WIRE modem/router has be reset several times a day. Called Telus and bitched a bit so they sent a new 2700-HG-E router/modem and seems to have helped me stay online longer with no need to keep resetting .The phone line filters are a pain in the ass. Billing is always Months behindand voice menu makes sure to riun your day. best thing to do is don`t speak and it will hookyou up to a live person. If your in a hurry forget the stupid voice menu. the bottom line is that i am fed up with low speeds, lousy voice menus and mediocre support. SO GOOD BYE TELUS

| Telus dsl will be useless in the future Yes i've been reading dsl with ping times above 60 milliseconds will be completely useless in the future. With the ping times at Telus being the highest in the entire world where will Telus dsl be in the future? Cited article is here for proof. »www.cbc.ca/technology/story/2008···and.html | |

| Re: Telus dsl will be useless in the future I guess the implicit suggestion you are making by saying "Telus dsl will be useless in the future" is that TELUS either isn't or won't be upgrading their DSL or infrastructure in the future. I've seen too much talk on the forums about VDSL, bonding, and GPON to believe they aren't doing so. So I think your statement is invalid.
Besides, the CBC writing an article to their left-biased target audience about a study funded Cisco trying to encourage any telco to spend more isn't much in the way of proof.

Never trust a DSLR review with such poor punctuation. It's a sign that the user is not very educated and doesn't have a clue on how technology works. -- Asus P5Q-E / Q9450 @ 3.6 / 4GB OCZ Reaper HPC 8500 / XFX 9800 GX2 / Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | |
