<title>Multiple Problems, lets start with 60kBps download on 6Mbps</title>

<description><![CDATA[Up until yesterday I had a minor annoyance with my DSL, it would drop connection anytime I got a call, more about that later.  as of yesterday though, my internet connection has been terrible!  according to the 2wire gateway home (gateway.2wire.net), I'm connected at 672 kbps down and 288 kbps up, I pay for a 6Mbps connection, so those speeds are correct, but when I download something I am being throttled back to ~60kilobytes/sec.  first, I thought it was just the server I was downloading from, after it happening at several websites (including sears.com, kohls.com, and a large test file from megaupload.com) its definitely on my end.  if I download multiple files simultaneously, they add up to 60kbps, best I've gotten was 68kbps.

  

  

And as I said earlier, when someone calls my house phone, my internet drops off and I have to reboot the whole system.  its done it for almost as long as I have had DSL, and I used to thing it went with the static on the phone line, but that cleared up when ATT came out to install uverse in my neighborhood (still not available to my address).]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[This is an FYI - the email servers are down at the moment. 

No ETR but it is currently being worked on. This is affecting users that check email via an email client like Outlook, Thunderbird, Eudora and the list goes on.

At this moment webmail is currently working.

Please be patient - it is being worked on.

It may not affect all our customers either.

<title>Any and all DSL experts needed!!! DSL PROBLEMS!!!</title>

<description><![CDATA[ALLLright here we go....ive had this problem for almost 4 years now....yes i know what an idiot. Ive had about 3 att techs at my house and they cant figure out the problem. It all started almost 4 years ago i had an old crappy modem that was flashing a red light on the dsl indicator. NOTE!!! It was about the time we cancelled our home phone service through att. The tech came and told us to take off our filters and that my modem was shot so he gave ue a new modem a Motorola 2122 or somthing like that. SAME THING!! Im guessing the dsl was losing sync or something.Weird thing is that it only happened during the summer and it would only lose sync once a day and never in the winter. Well it got really bad so that i could only use the internet in intervals of around 30 mins PS thats bad cuz i play xbox live and ps3 online. i searched and searched the forums for clues as to stop it. Some people were saying my modem was overheating. so i got a new modem well its actually a wireless router/modem combo, i already have a really good router that i like. that setup works but the dsl STIILLLL loses sync a lot.. Ill run any test u guys want just please help me.]]></description>

<title>Hybrid 3 with Speedstream 5100b and Elite service</title>

<description><![CDATA[I've been having problems at night with a stalled connection and bursts of CRC errors.

Narrowed it down to a failing streetlight a couple of houses away and notified the power company to come and fix it.

However, I noticed in my log that I'm connecting using hybrid 3, my SN margin is around 11 dB, and my line attenuation is 47 dB.

I know that my house has daisychained wiring and my modem is at the end of the line.

What else can I do to get rid of hybrid 3 besides putting in a home run to the modem?]]></description>

<title>New to DSL, new to this forum...</title>

<description><![CDATA[Hi...  A few days ago I got my dad (in Kansas) setup with AT&T DSL Express (1.5 Mbps, all the speed he needs and also the highest speed AT&T offered at his house/location).  I am visiting him from Ca... I have Cable Broadband back home so this is my first experience with DSL.  His setup includes the 2wire 2701HG-B...  I did all the setup stuff a few days ago and it all was pretty straightforward...  I have reset the modem a couple of times just to see how that works.  I have also pulled the power cable once and plugged it back in just to see how the modem resets.  I want to learn as much as possible while I am here so when I go back to Ca I can hopefully be of help to my dad remotely....  I have noticed the loss of internet two or three times for a few seconds, typically in the evening...  I also am trying to learn about the statistics I see on the modem/router reports...  I installed filters on all the phone connections as instructed...  I also reviewed the phone wiring in the house...  The phone wire that runs to the DSL modem DOES run through some areas in the basement where it is bundled with other wires (not good I would guess) but we chose to "see how things work" before deciding to dive in and redo phone wiring...  Let me publish some of what I am seeing in the modem/router statistics and could someone comment about whether what they see in retrains and so forth appears normal, bad, whatever???

<title>AT&#x26;amp;T DSL goes out almost evening between 8-11PM</title>

<description><![CDATA[Really puzzled on this one since my line quality upon initial installation was good and the DSL Elite was rock solid from April till October. In October, AT&T started to put U-verse in my development and since then the line quality has gone down with the DSL dropping every evening between 8-11PM. Had a AT&T tech come out and there was virtually no signal loss between the NIC and the modem. He had no answer to my problem and suggested I would have to accept a lower speed. I suggested that he check the line quality from the CO to see where the drop off occurred but it fell on deaf ears. Of course, they are not putting U-verse in my phase because there is no existing cable. Any ideas or how I can get AT&T to clean up their lines which had been ok before? <title>Router config. problem</title>

Very simple little desktop system with W2k sp4, etc. About as simple as a router app. can get.

ATT DSL Pro has been running reliably for years with SpeedStream 5100b modem, D-Link router.

The D-Link dies, I get a TP-Link TL-WR340G wireless Router to replace it. I am using it -only- as a wired router. Router info:

With the modem connected and working, I plug the new router in and everything works:

At the end of the day, I power the system down. Next morn I boot system and the router is dysfunctional:

<title>Higher latency after leaving KC.</title>
