[Equipment] DVR model

We've been having intermittent problems with our cable service recently and I was told by customer service today we probably need a new DVR box. I'm assuming the new boxes are still Motorola but does anyone know what model they are now using? Does it have any new features?

Thanks!

While at the Kroger store in St Mathews, I saw a booklet for a Motorola DCX200 model in the Insight Cable office. Is this a box to replace the old Motorola box for non HD televisions?

[Speed] Newsgroup speed being throttled (Lexington, KY)

Looks like insight has started limiting the speed of downloading from newsgroups. Does anyone else have this problem as well? I can only get about 300KB/s using either giganews or supernews, SSL or non SSL.
Speedtest.net reports 10MB/s, and if I connect to my VPN I can get the usual 1.1MB/s through giganews.

What gives?

[Need Info] No more VCR timer?

Insight in BG KY - we discovered last night that we can no longer set a VCR timer - ie to autotune to a channel for recording. I do not have the cable supplied DVR box - just the standard box for digital cable. I spent about 20 minutes on hold and finally talked to support last night and they told me they made an upgrade and to get that functionality back I had to go to the office and get a different box. That seems very strange to me - has anyone else experienced the same problem?

[CATV] Channel Issues in NKY?

We just had new service installed. He ran all new cables into the house because when the sellers remodeled they ripped everything out. A lost of stations work just fine. However random HD and non HD stations will get blocky, pixilated, sound will cut in and out. The best way I can describe it is like having Satellite and its gets really cloudy and raining and your pictures starts screwing up. It was so bad last night we couldn't even watch a TV show we typically watch on Thursday nights. I had just had a service calls 2 days ago to replace my box because they couldn't talk to it from there home office. They tested all the signals and said everything was fantastic and even stated that the tech who installed my lines did a great job.

[DVR] Changing Display Resolution from 1080i to 720p on the dvr

Just moved and we now have Insight Cable. I have an issue with my TV that it started to not display 1080i correctly. The colors kind of shift in and out. It does this on my cable box and xbox 360. 720p displays fine and i would like to use that instead of 1080i. We used to have time warner and i could choose what video resolution to use. I have gone through all the Insight cable box settings and i can not find anything to change the display resolution. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I have what i believe is insight's 5.0.

Also the TV i am having issue with a Toshiba 34HF83 - 34" CRT TV

I could not find anything to change display to only 720p with the tv either.

Thanks

Insight phone question

The other day I switched over to Insight phone system. Everything is working find. Only one odd problem I could use advise on.

Before switching from Cincinnati Bell, when a friend called, it would show name and phone number on caller ID. After switching to Insight it shows "unknown caller", but does show their correct phone number.

Nothing changed except my phone provider. Is there something I need to look at to get things back to square one?

Thanks.

[CATV] FSN South HD Channel

Has anybody check to see if we are getting Fox Sports South HD on channel 929? In Mr. Willner post from last week he said that the Louisville, and the Northern Kentucky markets would be receiving this channel on today (Nov. 16th). I forgot to look this morning before I came to work. Just thought I would throw it out there.

[Speed] 20 Meg service collapsing - Lexington, KY

Well,I've had speeds go way down during peak hours before but now this is ridiculous. http://www.speedtest.net/result/622955067.png

What's particularly troubling is the Ping and the way the upload speed has tanked as well.

Obviously,to pay what I'm paying and for the line quality to ever get to this point is unacceptable.

Yes,I have powered down the modem and router.

Oddly,I can no longer access the modem diagnostics at http://192.168.100.1
The message is that server cannot be found.

I would really like some help from tech support before I pull the plug.
