Hmm change mister Obama was the slogan of your campaign so far I've seen little. I'm still happy I didn't vote for you sir Ron Paul 2012.
We'll see how many more slipperly slopes Obama takes the US down. Heck maybe soon we'll be at war with North Korea. -- That was the wild boar.... Moo! My podcast: The Banzai Beat »www.banzaibeat.com |

| reply to N3OGH How is that? This is a move to monitor Government agencies, NOT the public the way the previous boss dictator did.
The government has no inherent right to privacy in most circumstances. This is a move towards Gov transparency, and monitoring possible corruption with "contractors".

Trust the dear leader, he knows whats best for all of us. Perhaps, though this summary is a little different because it's talking about the data between the government networks and everyone else basically.
That actually makes sense because most of the "hacking" that takes place in business is from within, same as with this country. To worry about a bunch of hackers from China or Russia is one thing, but if you don't pay attention within, countries are often destroyed from within.
So yeah, it's Big Brother sitting between the government networks and us. I'm actually fine with that. The only problem I have is when big brother is sitting between Us and Us again. That's where I draw the line.
So it's a double-edge sword. I want the government to be diligent in not setting up some awesome monitoring data center for it's network and the rest of the world but ignoring our own networks within. But at the same time, I don't want some dip*hit to able to abuse access by stepping into the private sector networks just to get back at his girlfriend or to help his buddies at XYZ corporation spy on a competing company. -- Fight Insight Ready (Was NebuAD) and the like: Click Here to pollute their data |

Is well represented here by a couple posts. Everyone always manages to find excuses for crap like this as long as it's their guy in charge.
The same people who would be seething a couple years ago, dish out excuses now that their guy is the one running the orchestra.
Unless people start standing up for what they believe in no matter who is in charge, we deserve every single BS that comes out of Capital Hill and the White house. |

Each time a private citizen visited a "dot-gov" Web site or sent an e-mail to a civilian government employee, that action would be screened for potential harm to the network. This is a good thing and should have happened long ago. Should the government not be allowed to protect its infrastructure from threats? |

Bob Now, O'Bama went to the bother to actually attend the vote for NSA Data mining (aka Telecom immunity) and give it his endorsement. Likewise he's made no effort to hamper the NSA's efforts to collect our data in any way.
So the efforts to gain complete data collections on US citizens continues on as planned.
But what you're saying is that this data created by US citizens, that will be storehoused forever, isn't part of an effort to gather data on US citizens.
Why? Because it's being put to another purpose at the moment.
That sure does sound a whole lot like BOb voter speak to me.

I will continue to lay the beginnings of the destruction of our liberty at his feet as well - this NSA program being the whole of it.
But O'Bama continues to violate his apparent ideology by supporting the eventual end of an individuals sovereignty.

| I bet none of you even read the article.
This is being used to monitor traffic coming on and off the GOVERNMENT network. Besides, the capability exists to monitor your activities as it is now and is most likely being used already. It'd be foolish to believe that traffic isn't being monitored now.
Everything is controlled by special interests, but you guys argue like if one political party disappeared the world would magically get better. Geez. |

Trust the dear leader, he knows whats best for all of us. If Obama does it, it is all for the good of the citizens. When Bush did it it was evil. The majority of the press is in Obama's pocket. They are nothing but paid shills for the Democratic party.
With that said I see nothing wrong with the NSA monitoring traffic to .Gov web sites in order to prevent cyber-attacks by enemies of the US. But at least I am consistent in my beliefs. said by N3OGH :Meet the new boss same worse than the old boss... Actually this is nothing like what Bush was doing. Bush spied on every American for no reason except he could. From what I just read at the top of the page Obama is basically monitoring all communications for government business. If you do not want to be spied on by the government then do not do business with them.
This is no different than a company recording all communications they have with their customers and contractors.
If the government wants to spy on themselves then who really cares, now if they want to do what Bush did and spy on any American for no reason then I will be worried. -- For those of you playing a drinking game.... MY FRIENDS! |

NV If you read at the top of the page they are basically going to "spy" on anyone doing business with the government. | Cyber-secsurity Czar
This is the same group that whines that the government doesn't have a cyber-security czar, then that he is too low ranking and doesn't have the ear of the President, then that he resigned after only a short period on the job.
Now you complain that DHS is actually testing a plan to put a security ring fence around some critical government agencies and you are shocked. Makes one chuckle. |
