1 edit | [Scam] Cruise line mail?
Check out this garbage that came in the snailbox today..
This certainly looks too good to be true, so I'm skeptical about it..
Has anyone gotten mail like this with the same layout and look before? |

2 edits | If it's the offer in the link below, it's a come-on to get you to pay for a week at the Ramada Plaza Resorts along with the 'free cruise'. Otherwise it's probably just a timeshare scam.

| reply to mrchris I've gotten similar postal mail twice before, and on the more recent mailing, I looked up the company and found out it was Ramada Plaza Resorts, who are notorious time share scammers. -- "The trouble with computers, of course, is that they are very sophisticated idiots." - Doctor Who (from Robot)

| reply to mrchris I actually received one of these offers in the mail from Caribbean Cruise Line and decided it was a pretty good deal for a cruise. I hadn't had a vacation in such a long time and the economy had me stressed. Anyway... I booked the cruise and went about a month ago. I had a great time! The cruise was quick (only 2 days) and we had to pay port fees which I hear is normal for cruises. But, there were no time share pitches or anything we had to sit through. I would definitely recommend going on Bahamas Celebration if you are in dire need of a vacation but can't afford one. |

This was not a scam at all. I received the same material and I followed through with it. There was no hidden things that were scam related at all. Everything was described in the flyer and was easy to understand. I attended the two night cruise to the caribbean Bahamas and it was a great cruise. I have been on many cruises and this one will be well remembered over the others. |

1 edit | reply to mrchris True to form, the shills show up to try and defend the scam.
It has happened so many times in this forum for the posts from them (two by cruisenV, one by an anonymous user) for it to be otherwise.
There is zero chance that any cruise offer by Ramada Plaza Resorts or Caribbean Cruise Line that it is what it is claimed to be:
said by consumeraffairs.com : The cast of characters changes from time to time but the basic pitch and its outcome don't. The pitch: a first-tier, lap-of-luxury trip. The outcome: third-rate hotels, tiny rental cars, rust-bucket cruises and obnoxious time-share sales pitches.
The scam shills are going to have a hard, if not impossible time convincing regular users of this forum that Ramada Plaza Resorts is anything but a scam. Well, quasi-scam, maybe, but that is splitting hairs.

| reply to mrchris Sounds like a cruise to remember.
Looks like they spend a lot of money printing and mailing those ads... Its no wonder because I have heard of salespeople earning 33% commissions on timeshare sales.
Real estate prices have dropped so low in FL that it seems silly to purchase a timeshares instead of property. |

About the only place where you are going to see mostly positive reviews for Ramada Plaza Resorts is going to be on their own or affiliated websites.
And to the shills posting here: give it up already. No one here believes you, and all your comments are doing is exposing the scam for what it is. -- "The trouble with computers, of course, is that they are very sophisticated idiots." - Doctor Who (from Robot)

| reply to mrchris I recieved this offer in the mail and replied to it. After getting everthing set up I became wary of the company. I have been billed for two months and then wanted to cancel my offer. I was allowed to cancel and payment was stopped on my card. The repersenative was helpful and polite, but agressive. I was also not refunded for those two months. |
