Hello, I just got back on from the same trip. I didn't get it in the mail, I heard it on the radio. I have to say one thing, no several things. Its not a scam, but the word "free" leaves a lot to be desired. You have port charges, you have to sit through a sales presentation from RCI to try to get you to buy into a time share. Its not a 2hr presentation like they said its about 5-6hrs. (Hold out till the last stage if your interested in getting one that will be your best deal, just tell them you cant afford it till then.) Then you get your tickets. They give you "free" meals in the hotel, but you have to pay the taxes and the mandatory 15% gratuity. You have toll roads all over the state, so take plenty of cash or (buy a sun-pass). The boat was wonderful and Nassau was (take the Cable beach tour) hot. The Ramada they put you in (Ft Lauder-dale) sucks. The Ramada main gate west near Disney was nice, indoor and outdoor pools. But only one set of elevators. |

I got the same offer in my mail, I called and I spent about 1hr and 40 min. At the beginning they told me I have to pay 399.00 per person for the cruise, las vegas and Puerto Vallarda, then I told them that I wasnt sure, they passed me to speak with the manager. He sounds really professional, and I asked him to make a conference call with my friend. After we started asking questions we found out that every time, it was an extra fee, so it wasnt really convincing. After being on the phone for 1hr we said no, we dont want it, the manager gave us a better deal, instead of paying 399.00 we have to pay 299.00 and we will get one more night at the bahamas and the port fee will be 59 instead of 99 as he told us at the beginning of the call. We insist that we didnt want it, and he even offer two extra nights in another location, he gaves like seven towns where to choose from. We keep asking questions b/c we were not sure, and for the third time we said no, he gave us another offer. He wanted to convince us by giving us too many things extra. We started with a package for two for 798 + 99 at the port pp, at the end the same package even better he was gonna make it for less than 500. That's it sounds reliable?? Not to us. He didnt want to give up with us, and he insisted but by that time we research the web site and it wasnt reliable.
He even told us go to the web site caribbeancl.com, DONT google b/c its gonna give you so many links. In their web site there is not contact information. And when I google it it seems that there are more people that are concerned about this. By that time I understand why he told me NOT to google it. I work in a hotel and I had seen so many scams. Those companies promise so many things that are not real.
If it is a scam or not, I can't tell you, b/c I didnt want to booked it, but it is for sure that all they said it is not 100% true. |

His post shows a clear example of high pressure sales tactics, a practice that Ramada Plaza Resorts is known for using.

I have considered responding to these sort of offers, shooing the salesmen and being prepared to pay more than the advertised price, but it does not sound like a relaxing vacation. Especially when you consider that cruise trips are super cheap right now because of the economy.
Sounds like the only guarantee with those cruise line direct mailings is irritation, hassle and unexpected costs.
I wonder if all of the people on the cruise ship responded to a mailer. Must be an interesting crowd. |

We booked a cruise with them.. and have not taken it. They told us that we had 18 months or something to take it. We didn't receive anything in the mail, we got a call. They did however send us all sorts of paperwork after the initial payment which was 59.00 per person. The website we used is www.thecarriabiencruiseline.com. I couldn't tell you if it is a scam or not considering we haven't attempted to take the cruise. I will update if we do decide to call them back and book! Good luck everyone. |

i got a ticket in the mail from caribbean cruise line for 1 free cruise for 2 people and a 1300.00 travel voucher. its for a 8 day vacation- ft lauderdale, i think somewhere else and the bahamas paying nothing but taxes, tips, room service and drinks. he mentioned ramada inn as the hotel. cost would be 349.00 each, minimum 2 people and a 2nd vacation to las vegas and mexico somewhere that was guaranteed if used within 18 months. i had to let him know right then and there cause the confirmation# would not be valid once i hung up. if this was legit why not give someone time to think about it and check it out first- his explanation was fuzzy. he gave me his id# and a customer service# to convince me it was all good, but i didn't go for it hopefully i didn't pass up a great deal. oh yeah he wanted my phone# just in case we got disconnected- didn't give it to him either- be careful out there. |

One of the possible warning signs that a deal or offer may be too good to be true is when those offering it to you tell you you have to say yes to it right away without giving you time to think it over.

THE OFFER FROM "CARIBBEAN CRUISE LINE" IS A SCAM!!
Is something seems to good to be true then it usually is. I got an offer from "Caribbean Cruise Line" for a 3day cruise and a BUNCH of other vacation stuff all for $299 US + some $50 port arrival fee. it sounded pretty good and i was gonna go for it, but then i decided to do some research. I checked out their website and went into the "Terms and Conditions" part at the very bottom. I found the address that they wanted all of their "winners" to send their registration forms and money to and googled it. Haha! I found the address in good maps and went into street view (it's pretty sick). What do you know? It's a residential house. Hmm... I wonder why a "legitimate" travel company would be operating out of a house? That basically confirmed my skepticism of the company. So, at the end of the day, do your research!! And if something seems to good to be true, it probably is!!

There is NOTHING for free in this life. NOTHING! Any vacation you "win" or get for "free" is only worth what the timeshare retailers and vacation scam operators will pay per prospective victim - and yes, anyone that buys a timeshare, especially at retail, is a victim. And ANYTHING that has ANYTHING to do with a timeshare is a scam. If you want to stay in a timeshare, RENT IT from an owner who is trapped in the endless cycle of payments, maintenance fees, taxes, special assessments, transfer and trade fees, etc.
Do not walk - rather RUN away from anything "free" in this life. |

I was researching abt this online and read thru few threads saying that this scam as these people ask for credit card details when you call back for confirmation.
I m simply tearing off those so called free vouchers. |

Im glad to see this post. same story, received the free ticket today. Very suspecious, since i never went for any draw that could possibily win me this. read the fineprint at the back " no purchase necessary", if it is free, why that need to be mentioned. also in fineprint " this advertising material is being used for the prupose of solicting sales of a vacation ownership plan" haha now we know!! thanks for posting it up |

i took the two night cruise. though i live in florida and didn't have to worry about paying for airfare i only had to pay my port charges and taxes for two minimum which came to 118.00 definitly had a great time, and wasnt pressured into anything. supposedly theyre aware of decrease in property value, so are not pressurrinng the sale of time share, but literally just trying to boost tourism and keep cruising profitable for them, cause most get an extended stay package or cruise again within 12 months. so i dont care what anyone thinks they knnow about what i do in life, but to the jerks up here, and know it alls that it seems are around, stop opening your mouth before you do your research. im an investor in real estate, first thing i learned was never speak to soon in biz. and i know real estate is low so it makes sense what and why thier offerring it. this wasnt a scam, i enjoyed the cruise and paid an extra 300. for two bonus vacations .. whatever, bottom line dont believe the finger pointers and hype up police. Caribbean cruise lines is real, doesnt pressure you and the cruise is nice and definitly worth 118. for two days on a ship, in the water with all meals included. where and what else can u do that cheap and have a great time? common sense. |
