@mindspring.com | [TW] Earthlink Newsgroup limits
Did anyone notice they are limiting newsgroup downloads again? |

@mindspring.com | Earthlink Chat just confirmed this to me in their my-first-language-is-Hindi way: "But it is a new launch that EarthLink started 5GB monthly download bandwidth limit for individual users utilizing EarthLink's Newsgroup/Usenet services." |

I exceeded that limit 3 times over just in the past couple of nights.. I wonder if this only affects direct Earthlink customers (i.e. not customers on earthlink-via-TWC). |

@mindspring.com | Last month I got an "exceeded limit" message and usenet was cut off. I must have downloaded 175-200GB at that point.I'm on Earthlink via TW. Just remember each email address has a separate usenet account. |

| Ah I guess that's their way of saying your ran over your allotted bandwidth per email, other logins work fine. Time to play EL email roulette...
Seriously, what is the possible logic in limiting bandwidth per email account, when you're offering 8 simultaneous email accounts and unlimited deletions/additions of said accounts? |

Ignore my previous posts to this thread about limits per account, a friend was logged in and it caused those issues. |

| reply to tcc I've been getting an error when trying to connect to the news server: username has exceeded monthly bandwidth limits
I've never had this problem before, no matter how much i downloaded. So my google got me here: »kb.earthlink.net/case.asp?article=resid8947
it looks like earthlink killed newsgroup access as they put a 1.5gb limit. can anyone confirm? If this is the case, I will be moving on to a way better ISP, as this one has been super slow. |

Call TW for any service issues: outages, billing, replacement modem, etc.
Call Earthlink for anything that is Earthlink-specific: email, newsgroups
Just try creating new email accounts and using those to login to the usenet servers for awhile, see if that works. I d/led another 3GBs tonight, no issues. |
