[info] AT&T actually advertising dry loop!

Wow. On NBC news (Hartford, CT) tonight AT&T was actually advertising "no home phone required" DSL. I'm pretty sure it has been available for a while but this is the first TV ad I've seen that pitched it.

One must wonder, what is the advantage of the dry loop aside the obvious of not having a telephone required? Does it make things faster? Does one still have to pay all those telephony fees and taxes for having a dry loop. One is curious. Thank you for any answers.

The tv ads pitch att dsl direct with att cell phone service, this bundle has discounts
There are people that have no need for a traditional telephone voip or cellphones fill the needs

att dsl direct has the same speeds as lineshared dsl
att dsl direct has no "telephony fees" if there are taxes its because your state requires it

They will probably charge more for the DSL since you aren't getting the phone service bundled.
