JUST got off the phone with ANOTHER tech, and basically after having remote desktopped into my computer and checking with the technicians they are going to be monitoring the connections during this time over the next few weeks or so.

Hopefully we'll finally see some lower pings soon.

Got a call back from the CSR I talked to yesterday and be basically said expect the problem to be resolved within 1 - 1.5 months as they are doing upgrades that should fix this problem.

Our area here just got upgraded to the new ports (this morning) and my pings on my servers went from 100+ down to 30-35.

Hm, I wonder when I'll be moved to the new ports. Has anyone heard anything about that?

I live in Richmond on No. 2 Road and Williams, I'm actually pretty close to the CO.

Yup where do you live? Seems to be happening to quite a bit of people in the Lower Mainland, however my next door neighbors whom are also using TTV + 3.0 aren't having the same problems as I am.

I live in Vancouver (West End ). I also have Telus TV + 3Mbit plan

For comparison, this is what my traceroute looks like when everything is working fine, at 5:40AM

This has absolutely nothing to do with being moved to new ports, it would affect customers on ADSL2+ or the legacy network. Simply put their is a congestion in the core network in the lower mainland, during prime times their will be slower speeds, higher latency, possibly packet loss.

This will be fixed with network upgrades happening in November.

That sucks. Why did this congestion start happening only two weeks ago and why does it take a month to fix it? 150ms difference in ping times has basically made online games unplayable for me.

I noticed this all day yesterday, my traffic going to the states went up atleast 100ms across the board, however "In Canada Traffic" ie West Vancouver game servers/boxes I could ping just fine. It's fixed now, I stupidly didn't bother doing a traceroute as I was out for most of the day. Just wondering if anyone else noticed this, I'm not noticing the current issue though (I've checked multiple nights, my ping remains constant for the entire day).

Nope not here. I only get high pings during peak hours (happens 1 hour earlier now that there's daylight savings) though it seems to start around 5PM (around now) rather than 730PM now.
