| Capped With Rapidshare
So ever since I switch from DSL to Cable My Rapidshare downloads have been capped to 130kb/s if downloading a single file and 60 - 80kb/s if downloading multiple files. All other downloads from normal sites like microsoft download usually at my 1MB/s speed. Does anyone know why this would be? It was fine on DSL and is fine when using my friends DSL line through teksavvy but my cable line wont let download at the speed I should be. Is anyone else having this problem. If not how can I solve it. I do have a paid account and have been using RS for a very long time so I know this isnt normal. It's been this way since I set up my account with rogers. |

| reply to ModdTaco Hmm. not sure i see the snide response - seems 'mrbrimi' was just adding a fair comment.
anyhow, i guess i will be accused of being a fanboy as well, since at this very moment i am downloading a file from rs at about 2Mb/s. why wouldnt you think this is a typical 'load' issue? |

| Add another fanboy to the list... /sarcasm
But, I have yet to experience any throttling while downloading off of RS. But at times, even from Microsoft, my speed will slow down. But I suspect that has more to do with the current load at my node than any throttling. |

| reply to ModdTaco First off I'm not a Rogers fan by a long shot.
Secondly I'm not having problems with R/S.
Perhaps the problem is YOUR setup and perhaps given that other people aren't having problems you might want to tell us about your setup. Have you done speed tests? Are you having problems on other sites? Is there a Rogers problem in your neighbourhood?
We are not mind readers, if you want help then you might want to change your attitude. |

| reply to mrbrimi Indeed. My posts were all deleted when I asked for help. I have done a speed test. My speeds are fine as I said in the first post. Running the SMC modem the Rogers gave me. I live in a house. I have two dogs there. Oh and I like pie. Just fooling man. Take it easy. I just needed help.
Trying Jdownloader out tonight if I have another Linux batch to debug. |
