| I provisioned 2 sb6120... the first time, they called me back 3 days later. this time no one called. I called in, and asked what the status was. they said it was under my account, and they activated in 2 minutes. both time level 3 needed to fill out paperwork to get the modem working.....
Well it turns out, they my modem still looses sync whenever i download large files. so its not the modem.... damn time warner sucks! |

SB6120-1.0.1.8
So far after 2 days I have not had any sync or reboot issues and I have been getting 50/5 during peak usage times. |

| reply to Queens RR no, i had a SMC before, and the techs came out 4 times to check... there can be more than one modem on my account. the level 3 guys said, i can switch between the 2 sb6120 i had under my account as i choose. but only 1 of them can go online at a time.
amazza, have you tried downloading many large long files at one time? |

1 edit | reply to Queens RR queens rr did you fix your problem? i am at flushing 11355 near hospital, had docsis3.0 at very first day, provitioned sb6120(latest firmware) 2 weeks ago but it didnt fix my problems. 2 problems i am having are 1. slow speed, download usually around 30m (wired direct connect to different computers), upload never passed 2m. second problem i had is dropping internet at night time around 7pm to 12 pm, i believe it is because internet was too slow at that time, usually 8m/300k on speedtest, even speedtest can drop the internet (have to reset the modem to get back online). signal looks okay, downstream -1, -2, -1, -1, noise 37, upstream power level is 40 or 42. but only 2.56m symbol rate if you alrdy fix ur problem{or anyone can address my problem}, let me know how, called many times t3 tech support and motorola tech support. |

| I installed my modem the third day they announced it. I never had any problems with speed since day 1.. i am always getting the fill 50/5, and then some. As far as fixing the dropped connection.. i gave up. TWC wont do anything. So i got the POS SMC installed again. they wanted to charge me another $40 for installation i paid for the first time. I was like WTF?!?!?!?!?! i threatened to cancel and switch to FIOS which is NOT available in my neighborhood.. but i was a try. installed it for free. good luck. I have 2 useless sb6120 sitting in my house.. |

Foxcci what is your SB6120 firmware? if it was SB6120-1.0.1.8-SCM02-NOSH it is not the latest.
1.0.2.1-SCM00 is the latest
I just dont know how to upgrade, since RR wont do this for you |

I have problem with drop sync almost everyday. Everyday when I looked at SB6120, up time is always less that 24hrs. lol.. TWC sending over Tech the coming Saturday to see what is going on, but I guess not much they can do?
when I looked at log file, I saw some log dated with year 1970.. OMG.
is there anyway in Motorola Sb6120 to change date and time? |

@rr.com | reply to Queens RR The time changes by the ToD server. When you unplug it, it looses that time. After it gets the upstream synced, the ToD kicks in. |

1 edit | reply to Queens RR i never had 50/5, closest i had is 46/3.2 but only few hours, most of the time is 25/0.8 the firmware on mine is 1.0.1.8 logs are time out something after reset the modem(9 logs) and time is 1970, never changed after connect
one more question, for those of you using motorola sb6120, what upstream symbol rate you guys have?
i only have 2.56m/s maybe thats why i am kind slow on upload speed?
Upstream Modulation [5] 16QAM, i read, this should be 64QAM... |
|
  Queens RR
@rr.com
| 16QAM is correct. they are cheap to upgrade, or dont feel the need to apparently. where are you located at foxxici? im at 136 and 59th. they did a node split about a year ago, and always get the right speeds even with rr standard.. Plus my signal levels are great: Receive Power Level 9.5 dBmV Transmit Power Level 40.0 dBmV |
