It works for outbound calls but there's a ton of clipping on it and sometimes it's so bad you miss every other word. As for Canadian number, the clown that runs it, Victor, has been promising a working number since the beginning and he's either incompetent, a liar or likely both. My experience, and two of my friends experience is that Magic Jack is a waste of money and bordering on Fraud.
Yeah, Victor said the same thing to me back in February of 2008, but for me the service is worth it. It was pretty dodgy at first with all the software changes and glitches in the beginning, but things have been getting better as time goes on. I use my cell phone as my main contact number, but for everything else I use my magicJack line. Much cheaper than $55/month for a land line.
I'm sure Victor will still tell all of his potential Canadian customers that free Canadian numbers are on the way, "SOON". |
