| Linkpoint LPIO Device connection in Vegas
Linkpoint Credit - Debit device needs to dial 800 number to connect to merchant account processor. Phone number was changed from local Telco today, and I had to process debit card.
Was not able to complete the transaction, could not get connected. Question: does this device work with a clear telephone gismo? Is there different method for this type of connection, one that uses cat 5 wire for the internet instead of the phone line?

| reply to Mbook In theory one of those MagicJack (magicjack.com) type of devices\service might work in your case.
Never tried one for this type of purpose, but they do emit dial tone so in theory their is no obvious reason to me why it shouldn't work. Plug that guy into your pc and run the phone cord to the Linkpoint AIO device. |

| reply to Mbook All VoIP providers, Magicjack, etc., will work as long as the service strength is good. If the connection is choppy through the Internet or VoIP provider then it will not send data like it should since that is Analog based and requires a clear connection. Digital signals can have loss, etc., that is why TCP/IP were created. They essentially correct any errors in the stream. -- IT Related Blogging »www.michaelgossett.me |
