| [ALL] IS AMC Hi Def broadcast in anamorphic widescreen. I'd vote
Can't seem to find the answer to this on a random google search.., BUT my post here is in regards to the AMC broadcasts on Hi Def thru Shaw (here in BC ). I've been noticing since day one of its initial HD broadcasts that the 'widescreen' presentation of their films ( Hollywood films not Made for TV 1.78 re: Mad Men) seems to be 'stretched or wobbly' widescreen., I know I'm not explaining it properly.,. but when usual widescreen Hi Def has the same look as anamorphic (enhanced) DVDs., i.e. Movie Central and Encore HD channels . Top marks. If I have any type of beef at all with Movie Central or Encore is their 2.35 letterboxed films are sometimes pan and scanned down to 1.78., but they still look good.. AMC on the other have the presentations in letterbox and ARE not anamorphic presentations and therefore laughable and unviewable.. and therefore I will switch channels and not waste my TV time on this unenjoyable fodder .. anyone agree? is there a site where we can go and find out if AMC will upgrade their equipment, or where they will take our email beefs seriously and then will give us a more enjoyable and therefore a rewardable recordable experience?? |

Waste of an HD channel if its going to be in SD 99.9% of the week. |
