Intermittent Verizon Fios Internet Connection

About a month or 2 ago, we started having intermittent internet connection problems. About 25% of the webpages time out. This is unacceptable for the $$$ we are paying.

Which websites aren't working?

Are your computers connected wireless or via ethernet cable? What OS?

I suspect it's a DNS issue.

Try changing your DNS to OpenDNS's servers:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Providing any small shred of information that could possibly be useful to solving the problem is probably advisable. As it stands, I'm having trouble figuring out what the point to registering and posting this was.

The OP has probably heard of the stellar volunteer support offered by serious geeks on DSLReports. You know, the ones who were around when it actually *was* DSL? He probably heard they were friendly, but that may be a changing demographic. Liberal use of smilies indicates any teasing is all in good fun.

Hey, sguice1, welcome to DSLReports! Couple of things, like knarf829 said, need to know some more details to help. I agree with hocman, it may be DNS. First thing I would try would be to flush DNS cache. At command prompt, type

ipconfig /flushdns

It would also help to know which router you have: Westell, or Actiontec? If Actiontec, then which revision?

Do you run torrents or Steam?

I resemble that remark.

Sorry.

Sguice1 - would you care to elaborate? No one can can really offer much assistance based on a three sentence post containing little more than two exaggerations and one price complaint.

Better?

Better?
Yes.

And thank you for reminding me that I should think before I type.

Just as I was responding to your sarcasm with a comment about volunteer support because I didn't want the OP to feel chased off, I realize now my comment could as easily chase off someone else who wanted to contribute. I apologize to you both. I've said it before, and I haven't changed my mind. DSLReports has taught me a lot, it is my sincere wish to be able to pass it along.

Sometimes it might be better to sit on one's hands.

But then again where would the fun be in that?

Awww - now you're making me feel bad.

Half the fun here is in the knowledge I've found (and, hopefully, maybe been able to pass on a little) and half is in the give and take. There's room for both. The reason I keep coming back to BBR over other sites is the personalities here.

OP seemed more like a "venter" than someone who really wanted to solve it, which is why I went snarky.
