So, I am going to put my old router as an Access Point. To connect from my main router into the old router, should I use a crossover cable or just a normal one?

Check the docs for the specific devices (should be available online). Most recent ones have auto-sensing ports which need no crossover.

There's a FAQ on doing that here.
Of course, the WAN port goes unused.

None of the docs say... Both of the router that I am connecting to each other are very old.

This »Wireless Networking Forum FAQ »Using a Wireless Router as an Access Point doesn't say anything about crossover or not. In fact, there is a suggestion about crossover in the pending feedback.

I had a v1 of the BEFW11S4 100 years ago and I did need a crossover to connect to another device.
