| Configuring Slingbox Pro-HD with QIC7216 DVR
i'm in brooklyn ny and i'm having a hard time figuring out how to configure my slingbox to work with my fios box. the slingbox was working fine at one time, but i had to reset it. i've been searching for step-by-step instructions, but i've been unable to find them on the web.
does anyone have the instructions or knows where i can get them?

What is your particular problem? I have the QIP7216 connected to my Slingbox Pro HD streaming HD without any issues. The setup wizard worked great for me. There is also new Slingbox software as of the last few weeks so check on that. |

| i installed the latest version of slingplayer software for windows (2.0.4.521). now, it's telling me that i must update the slingbox software. i keep getting an non-specific message saying that there was an error updating the software, even after i reset the slingbox.
any ideas on how to resolve this? |

| There's a whole Slingbox community forum (link above, I think?) that will be able to help you, I'm sure.
As far as what to select, is Motorola DCT7216 an option? If so, that would work (I have a Hava box and using DCT6200 instead of QIP6200 works just fine). |

I'm prettys sure the qip6416 is one of the choices, you can use that. The model is really for the remote control codes.
Ignore the software upgrade message and see what happens. You might also want to try and search for SlingPlayer 1.5.1 EU and try using that for setup.

i'm assuming that there must be some kind of glitch in slingplayer 2.0.4 that is preventing me from configuring the box (i can't bypass upgrading the firmware). i'll try to use a 1.X version of slingplayer instead. |

i got it to work. i had to downgrade my slingplayer to 1.5 to make it happen.
now, i'm going to update slingplayer to 2.0.4 |
