HN7000S refusing connection

My 7000S has suddenly decided it doesn't want to speak to me or hnFAPMon. It appears to be refusing all connections from the local network. Internet access seems to be working fine. Anyone else seeing this behaviour? Have we had a software update since last night?

[HN7000S] Signal Strength

I've had HughesNet for nearly 4 years. Satellite longitude is 93 West. Until the satellite explosion last June-July, my signal strength stayed around 86. After the system melt down last summer, it's been 72ish. Today, 44 with a major browsing slowdown to a complete standstill. TS temporarily helped browsing speed (for about 5 minutes) but now it's back to dead in the water status. How can they state that signal strength is not an indicator of browsing speed? What can they do to get my signal strength back to where it was before last year? The only thing that seems to get these people to jump to attention is contacting the BBB and that takes weeks to go thru the system.
I just did a download speed test on testmy.com....11kbps :o
I'm normally just over 1000. And no, I'm not FAPed.

Lots of red X's after firmware update

I noticed that after Hughes pushed the new modem update (5.8.0.49)
I have seen a lot of red X's in the RTT column.
I am on G17/1070 and was wondering if others have noticed the same. It usually starts and ends around he same time every day, 3pm-11 PM
When it occurs browsing is painfully slow.
Thanks

Had a reset last night. New software:

Software Date: Mar 5 2009, 18:44:43
Software Release: 5.8.0.49

Wonder what changes this will have in performance. The diagnostics page looks a little different. Time will tell.

FAP Free Period

I found this:
"Download Period depend on the HughesNet Equipment platform you are using. The hours of unrestricted use shall begin no later than 2:00 AM and end no earlier than 7:00 AM eastern time."
From this I would guess it's 5 hours.
But I read this, too:
"Currently, data downloaded between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM Eastern Time will not apply towards your service plan's download threshold. "
This would mean a period of 3 hrs. only.
Which is correct?
I have a DW6000 on a home plan.

Slowly dropping signal

For the longest time (years) I had a signal strength of 82-83.
For the last 3 years the signal is slowly dropping.
It was in the 70s for a time and steadily dropping a little here and there. I am now at 61 for the last 2 weeks. Today is a clear day (no obstructions). I know that when it reaches 58 it will not function so it's time to get busy.

Not afraid to test and work on it. Been there as so many of us have.
Is this a transmitter thing?
What can I try?

Thanks
Dave
