Good Numbers to Call Forward Annoying Calls

I saw a post here ( I think it was here ) of some great numbers to froward annoying calls to.

We just got a new number and, lets just say, the previous owner must not have taken good care of their finances.

I have tried calling the companies, Green Tree and NCO, telling them to stop calling but the calls just keep coming. They have aso been sent to "Stop Calling" and "Disconnected" message for a month with no success.

So to have some fun, I would now like to forward them to another number to waste their time. Anyone have any suggestions where to forward these pests?

Tim

ViaTalk's Rotten Tomatoes Policy

After putting up with ViaTalk's growing pains and rotten service for 3 years, they threw me away at the end of 4 years by not offering me the same renewal plan as they offer new customers. I sent them numerous customers and never got the slightest reward for doing so. They finally decided to verbally offer me an additional 6 months free if I paid $10 more than what a new customer gets 24 months for and that would give me 18 months total. However, they resorted to some kind of trickery and wouldn't show me a revised invoice. They kept showing me a posted invoice of $446 for a 1-year renewal. I'm sure that once they got my $199 (+fees) they would have renigged on the 6-mo bonus and not refunded what I paid if I tried to back out. I wasn't going to fall for their trickery and I went to a new service. They don't care as they have plenty of other suckers to trick.

Problems with Outbound calls - BYOD PAP2T

Hello, First off thanks for all of the information that has been included on this site! It has really helped me out. Now onto the problem I am seeing.

So I used to have this working just perfectly. However after moving things around, I ended up resetting my pap2t and reconfiguring off of the instructions at http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,19221056?hilite=pap2t+na+setup

Now I am unable to do any outbound calls. I dial and then just hear nothing. And then after a while I get a fast busy signal.

To do some more testing to make sure it wasn't with my account, I installed x-lite 3.0 and setup my account and was able to dial out right away.

Anyone have any advice? Thank you VERY much!

Happy Thanksgiving? No Voice Mail

Happy Thanksgiving to everybody!
I am experiencing an interesting one today. The phone rings at the house, but instead of voicemail, it goes to a busy signal. In addition, the inbound calls do not show on my logs. Outbound works fine. I am on megatron, if that means anything. I just tried changing my port from 5090 to 5080. When I was on 5060 a while ago, I was getting phantom calls, hence why the different port settings. Had been working fine up until now.
Not sure if anybody else is experiencing similar.

Thanks.

Who's ported number out before end of term?

Ok, I've come to the point that VT is not the service for me. I still have a few months left on my account. Since I am BYOD, there's no device to return, but I do want to port my number elsewhere. My questions are:

1) What happens to my account after the port? Will I still be able to place calls via a softphone?

2) If I were to forward a call via SIP address (using old number), will it forward to PTSN per the plan?

Can't listen to VM on the website

Anyone else having issue with VM on the website?

I see my list but any message I click on, it loads for a bit and then shows as 0:00. I click Download and get an error page that just says: AN Error has occurred.

I opened a ticket with VT (ZAH-94756) just now but wanted to see if it's just me or if anyone else is having the same problem...

Viatalk's forums.hostrocket.com should be taken down

Viatalk should really take down their forums sine they are embarrassment to the way the company runs (or doesn't run) things.

Nothing but spambots there.

I would post there but I don't think it would be heard above the noise.

VT SIP setting for Fring/Nokia e&1x?

I recently upgraded my phone to the Nokia E71x, and one of the things I am trying to do is VoIP over the data plan.

From what I am reading, it looks like Fring is the way to go, but I can't seem to get the configuration correct.

Fring SIP (Other) available settings:
User-ID: (VT number)
Password : (from VT xten config)
Proxy Address: galvatron.vtnoc.net

Those are all the settings in Fring, and when it tries to subscribe, it cannot.

Anyone been through this before?
